MY FIRST BLOOD RUN.

We would never presume to say that we have saved a life, but we would be very proud to think that we have made a difference.
How good would it make you feel? It`s a good feeling for me!!

The meeting was at Hartshead WMC on Friday 10th October, as the call came through I was already getting my jacket on, we were told that 10 units of blood were needed at Huddersfield Royal Infirmary, for a little girl that was undergoing an operation and was of a rare blood type.

The adrenaline was pumping and I had to calm myself as I started up the bike. Slight confusion at the end of the lane as, in heightened state, my brain was struggling to compute the quickest route to the M62.
Of course! . . . . left down to Cleckheaton, then straight for Seacroft Blood Transfusion Service Unit . . . . I arrived 21.00hrs

About 5 minutes to pick up and strap the package on securely with three bungee's,  then a steady ride back to Leeds on the A64 at 40mph. Then hit a steady 90 on the M62 back to Ainley Top to deliver to the Huddersfield Royal Infirmary at 21.33hrs

I felt very good on reaching home and felt proud to think that I had made a difference in the recovery of someone, especially a `small` someone.

I am proud to be the Huddersfield Rider Manager of Whiteknights EVS and I urge you to take the bike and feel the buzz . . . . of making YOUR difference.

Regards to all, Martin Garside
